In the Musical- ANNIE- who is the character of Frances Perkins?

I auditioned two weeks ago for my fall musical- ANNIE. i was cast as Frances Perkins. Who is she?

1. She was the Labor Secretary under Franklin Roosevelt. She was the first female cabinet member in American history. In "Annie", there's a scene where Oliver and Annie visit F.D.R. He has his entire cabinet sing "Tomorrow", calling them out by name.
2. Frances Perkins was our nation's first female member of a presidential Cabinet. She was the Secretary of Labor under President Roosevelt for 12 years, from 1933 - 1945 -- the entire length of his presidency. She was the primary author behind such reforms as Social Security, unemployment insurance, workers' compensation, the end of child labor, minimum wage, and the 40-hour work week.
